Arcem's planned data center at the former Sperre Støperi site in Elverum (Industrigata 22) has applied for 99 MW of grid capacity and is currently in the connection queue. Grid operator Elvia confirms that supplying the facility is feasible but will require significant infrastructure upgrades, including reinforcement of the regional grid lines from Hamar to Elverum and construction of a new transformer station connected to Statnett's transmission network. The project, led by Bonum project manager Bjørn Wikan with Rambøll as planning consultant, is expected to create 40–150 jobs and could be operational by 2032. Local concerns about rising electricity prices have been addressed by both Elvia and Bonum, who emphasize that grid connection will not proceed until sufficient capacity is in place.
